Wedding Inspiration: 50’s Veils
Wedding outfits are indeed magnificent. We love everything about them: the dress, the shoes, the hair and makeup, and of course, the veil. Its not the most talked about part of the day, but it is essential. The lifting of the veil is actually to symbolize the taking of the wife by the husband . By the 19th century, the veil was used to symbolize the purity or virginity of the bride.
From a symbolic attire in the 19th century to another excuse to slay today, the wedding veil has indeed evolved. While most veils are usually waist length, one veil trend that is amazing yet not given enough credit is the short 50s veil. That veil covers just the face (sometimes not all) and doesn’t take attention off the dress itself. Like all things 50s, its designed for drama and making a statement. It’s not very commonly used so it’ll definitely make a statement.
