G Monday Motivation- 3 Nuggets You Need For Self Motivation
Most of us lose motivation and are lost on how to get it back. No need to fret, we are here to help you regain your confidence, focus and direction to put you back on track from where you left off.
Motivation is rather evasive. Some days you have it and other days you can’t just seem to fathom the drift of your zeal. You’re willing to get your head in the game and startup your purpose but then your thoughts start to escape reality and you lose focus, you find yourself going through motions, starting to careless about what’s important. It goes without saying that you are uninspired.
“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.” – Steve Jobs.
Your work is the most important thing and literally your life. If you do not love what you do you cannot be motivated to continue. 3 primary reasons we lose motivation is the 3L’s: Lack of confidence, Lack of Focus, Lack of Direction.
Confidence is key, question your confidence in yourself and understand that if you don’t believe you can succeed, then whats the point of trying? The first motivation killer is lack of confidence. When one focus’ on what we want every time, your mind starts to build explanations for you not getting it. That makes room for negative thoughts, failures and more. We understand that it gets hard and tiring and overwhelming but thats where the confidence comes in. Don’t let go of confidence. Once confidence in yourself and your ability to succeed is lost, you are already thrown off the path to your goal. Boost that confidence by focusing on gratitude. Never take your strength for granted and dwell on your past failures. This will rejuvenate your motivation and get your confidence drive going.
In relation to focus, get your head in the game. If you do not know what you want, do you really want anything? Your focus has to come in second place because with confidence comes your focus to get what you want and what you want is your goal. Never lose focus on your goal. ” Realize deeply that the present moment is all you ever have. Make the now the primary focus of your life.” Eckhart Tolle. Human beings are prone to think in terms of fear. Be it poverty, loneliness and what not. Instead of doing something about our fear we let it eat its way through and drains our motivation. Set your mind on well defined goals, thats your focus. By focusing your thoughts on a positive goal rather than an equivocal fear. When know what you want, you become motivated to take action.
Lastly your direction is your strategy. Think of this way, if four is your goal, then direction is how you would achieve that goal or the strategic ways you could go about to achieve that goal. Without an action to take you’ve lost your sense of direction. Such can lead to procrastination. To follow up on your direction have a follow up list to help you, help yourself. It’s advisable to do so when you notice your motivation is starting to wane. Discipline your mind and get ready for your all time low. Could be occasional failures, low energy or whatever. understand that if you do not have a discipline mind these minor speed bumps to your greatness can become permanent mental monsters that are not only killing your joy but your motivation too. Propel yourself to success by combining these three and your motivation will be restored.
