Breakfast With Chef Eros – Why You Should Never Skip Breakfast

They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Ever wondered why?

The average person is expected to get at least 8 (Eight) hours of sleep each night during which time, the body is at rest and considered to be fasting. 8 hours is a long time to go without eating, so if you don’t eat in the morning, your body wont get the energy that is needed to start the day. “Breakfast immediately raises the body’s energy level and restores the blood glucose level to normal after an overnight fast”.

Starting your day off right by having a good filling and balanced breakfast diet has been shown to decrease your overall calorie intake each day. It is such a critical meal because it influences practically every dimension of our being during the course of the day, including how we perform physically and mentally.

For some of us that are unaware,my name is Tolu Eros, popularly known as chef Eros and I would be your guide to a healthy balance breakfast, a good average lunch and a light perfect dinner. I am the brain behind the newly launched ‘Breakfast At Eros’ a breakfast delivery company that specializes in the delivery of homemade breakfast made with love.

In this breakfast column, we will be discussing everything about breakfast from it’s importance to what to eat, how to make it, where to get it, what the experts say and even what should follow your breakfast and lunch.

So, What are you having for breakfast?

This morning, I will be suggesting a very wholesome, healthy and nutritious breakfast. This meal is packed with fiber, proteins, carbohydrates, essential oils and fruits.

Go for meals like fresh yogurt with honey, homemade granola with dried fruits, potato frittata, honey toasted cashew nuts and a bowl of fresh fruit salad.


Thankfully you can get that on BFF (Be Fit Fam) meal plan at BAE (Breakfast At Eros) tailored to the weight watchers and healthy eaters alike. So! What’s your excuse for not having a good breakfast?

For those who like to make everything themselves, below is my secret recipe (well, not so secret anymore) for making a delicious homemade granola. All the other ingredients for the meal can be purchased from your favourite supermarkets.

200g Old fashioned Oats
50g Raisons
50g Brown Sugar
1/8tsp cinnamon
½tsp sea salt
30g of Maple or pancake syrup
30g olive oil
30g Honey
1tsp Vanilla Extract or 2tsp vanilla flavor


1. Preheat oven to 150°C
2. Stir all ingredients in a large bowl until well mixed
3. Spread on a baking tray lined with foil or parchment paper
4. Bake for 30 – 45mins until granola is dry and golden brown
Let it cool and enjoy with yogurt, milk or as a snack on its own.
